Riia Pulakka - To Tunnel Through
Riia was born and raised in Finland. To Tunnel Through resulted from a desire to be authentic, brave and committed. Filmed in both New York and Finland, with dancers in both locations, she challenged herself to seamlessly bridge the gap between continents. Riia’s ambitions are to explore, feel, create, learn, and grow. In essence, she seeks to become an artist who has her own voice. Her dream is to leave her mark on the world by creating works of art that inspire and teach children. She will soon get her BA in Dance and Early Childhood Education at Hunter College.
Jaire Tyndal - Flow
Jaire Tyndal is a senior dance major at Hunter college pursuing a BA in dance. Jaire has danced since the seventh grade and it became a quick love of his. He trained in Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School where his technique took shape. Now as a near college graduate he is working on his artistry and on loving himself. Jaire’s love for the movement of martial arts and anime inspired his project. Jaire hopes to be able to continue to share his artistry with others and have some fun in the process.
Abigail Kenoyer - paradoxical explorations
Abigail Kenoyer is a sophomore Dance Education BA/MA program student and Muse Scholar at Hunter College. She is a North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble Alumni and studied dance technique at North Carolina Dance Institute. She enjoyed creating a dance film this semester and hopes everyone has fun exploring dance in film alongside her.
Briahna Smith - Vibe Mentality
Briahna Smith is a fusion-styled dancer and choreographer. She is currently a senior at Hunter College and will be graduating in May '21 with her BA in dance. She gets most of her inspiration for choreo through improvisation and exploration and has been choreographing since the age of 12. Briahna aspires to potentially run her own dance company in the future that focuses on making the impossible possible. Her ideas revolve around utilizing things that you don't necessarily see in a dance and making a creation out of it for people to see.
Fox Conner - West Is The Rat's Direction Of Love
Fox Conner is an American Homosexual, Poet and Abolitionist studying Dance at Hunter College. Though historically his creative work has maintained a primarily aesthetic and lyrical focus, his foray into Dance has served as an avenue for the somatic exploration of Judeo-Christian, Tantric and Anarchist philosophies and as an ill advised alternative to psychotherapy. He has cited Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pina Bausch, Hellraiser, and Gumby as some of his primary influences. After graduating (fingers crossed!) he plans on growing his hair down to his tailbone and pursuing further studies in Dance at the Graham School.
Nadia Conway - Why we do What we Do - Someday Again
Nadia Conway is an aspiring creative and performing artist. She is a senior Dance major at Hunter College. This crazy time that we're in has opened opportunities for Nadia to combine her talents, interests, and disciplines of dance, art, photography, and video-making. She hopes to continue to collaborate, create, and tell stories for others to see and experience.
