Choreographed by Hunter College Faculty Alberto del Saz for Lecture Demonstration class. A native of Spain, choreographer Alberto del Saz always gives his ballet titles in the Basque language, the Spanish dialect of his region. They were not allowed to speak due to the political regime. Egun Argia, the title of the piece, means "Daylight." Mr. del Saz believes that Dance is an organic, visceral, and the most exhilarating exploration of movement. Relations between bodies, space, and sound often culminate in creating a unique experience for the senses; as dancers, we treasure the ability to lose ourselves in what we call performance. In a performance, the Dancer becomes the Artist, and the Dance becomes Art.
