Enrollment Guide for Non-Matriculated Students

Updated fall 2026

Students of 92NY’s Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) may be eligible for college-level credit through CUNY Hunter College. Currently, this program is only available for non-matriculated, non-degree-seeking students. Hunter College students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program may not take DEL courses for college-level credit through Hunter College.

Potential college-level credit may satisfy:

  • New York State’s Department of Education teacher’s salary differentials

  • New York State Education Department dance content requirement for dance licensure

  • Serve as prerequisites for admission to the MA in Dance Education program at CUNY Hunter College

Applying for Non-Degree Admission:
All non-matriculated students who wish to obtain college-level credit for DEL courses through CUNY Hunter College must apply and be accepted to Hunter College as a non-degree student. You are eligible to apply for non-degree admission if you satisfy one or more of the following conditions:

  • You have completed high school/secondary school or the equivalency exam

  • You plan to attend Hunter as a visiting student while enrolled at another college

  • You have already earned an undergraduate and/or graduate degree

  • You are currently a senior in high school/secondary school

Additionally, if you are a student educated outside the U.S., you may apply for non-degree admission if you possess a valid F-1 visa and satisfy one of the following conditions:

  • You are currently in attendance at another college/university

  • You are enrolled in an ESL program such as IELI

Note: DEL courses are only available for credit at the undergraduate level. Even if you already have a bachelor's or master’s degree, you will still need to apply as an undergraduate non-degree student.

You can learn more about applying as a non-degree student, including important deadlines, here.

Enrolling in Courses:

Once you are accepted to CUNY Hunter College as a non-degree student, you may complete up to 12 credits total. You will be required to pay the non-degree tuition for any courses in which you are enrolled at Hunter. You can learn more about tuition here.

In addition to Hunter College per-credit tuition, you must also pay any fees associated with the DEL course you are enrolling in directly to 92NY/DEL.

The following courses are currently offered for non-degree students seeking undergraduate credit for DEL courses at Hunter College:

  • DAN25281 Special Topics: DEL Curriculum Development

  • DAN25282 Special Topics: DEL Foundation

Note: To stay aligned with Hunter College’s academic calendar, you may need to complete DEL course assignments on an accelerated or adjusted timeline so your instructor has sufficient time to complete grading before Hunter’s grade submission deadlines.
