Virtual Dance Archive
After creative processes were stalled and classes shifted to virtual learning following the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, students and faculty came together from isolation to produce the first-ever Hunter College Dance Festival. In two days over 40 dances were screened, including student films, reimagined Repertory works, and live stream performances. This collection is a testament to the resiliency of the Hunter College Dance community.
The Fall 2020 dance festival featured the Thesis projects from the inaugural cohort of Hunter College Dance's MFA program as well as work from first-year MFA Process & Projects students, Composition II students, an MA Salon Series, and Repertory.
A full year from our first virtual Dance Festival, the Hunter College Dance Department produced a packed series of films and virtual performances, featuring student work from the BA (Composition I, Dance Workshop, Lecture/Demonstration, and Independent Study, Honors), AGDEP, and MFA programs.
For the first time in over a year, Hunter Students were once again able to choreograph for live audiences.
